Topsy turvy financial markets led to a decrease and then stabilization of average U.S. mortgage interest rates for the week ending April 5, 2018, according to Freddie Mac's weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey. 

Average U.S. mortgage interest rates changed little for the week ending March 29, 2018, according to Freddie Mac's weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey; however, interest rates for home loans are about 50 basis points higher through March than at the start of 2018. 

Average U.S. mortgage interest rates increased for the sixth consecutive week for the week ending February 15, 2018, to the highest level since April 2014, according to Freddie Mac's weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
