Massachusetts isn't the only place home prices have been increasing.
On a month-over-month basis, on the other hand, home prices, including distressed sales, decreased 2.8 percent in February 2015 compared to January 2015.
Excluding distressed sales, such as foreclosures and short sales, year-over-year home prices increased 5.3 percent in February compared to February 2014. On a month-over-month basis, excluding distressed sales, home prices neither increased nor decrease in February 2015 compared to January 2015.
According to a report released in March by RE/MAX of New England, NH home buyers pushed median home prices statewide up 10.3 percent, with sales increasing 0.5 percent. There were a total of 819 homes sold in the Granite State in February, only four more than the previous February; however, the median price of $215,000 was $20,000 higher than the $195,000 median price in February 2014.
The CoreLogic report indicated that nationwide, including distressed sales, prices increased 5.6 percent in February compared to February 2014. On a month-over-month basis, nationwide home prices, including distressed sales, increased 1.1 percent in February over January.
